Unravel the mystery behind the puzzles and scores.
← Back to GameThe puzzles aren't just random; they are intelligently crafted to provide a unique and engaging experience every time you play. Here's a deep dive into how our clever generation process works:
Your score is a reflection of your skill, speed, and strategy. We've designed a weighted system to reward thoughtful play.
Solving a puzzle with no reveals and quickly is your best bet, but when that fails, here are some point-saving tips:
Here is a look at a single puzzle (you get 5 day in each set) and how two different players scored:
Solved in 5:30 with 1 clue reveal and 1 letter reveal.
Total Score: 465
Once the timer reaches 2:00, there is no further time penalty. The max time penalty (-360 points) is roughly equivalent to revealing 2-3 letters.
Solved in :30 with 0 clue reveals and 3 letter reveals.
Total Score: 460
This player finished the puzzle very quickly, but used 3 letter reveals.
Results: Player 1 received a higher score even though they took more than 5 minutes to solve this one puzzle. In general it's better to take much more time than to use letter reveals for a high score.
Once you finish your 5 daily puzzles you'll see how you ranked globally on the Daily Summary screen. That puts you in the top 38% of players so far.
You'll also be able to view Global Stats: Score, time, clue reveals, and letter reveals. You'll also see Top Wrong Guess (where you can see where others went wrong). There's also a global score distribution chart to check out.
Raveled is a global game, so a new set of puzzles is released for everyone at the same time: UTC-4 (Midnight EST). The countdown timer on the summary screen shows you exactly how long until the next challenge is available.
If you follow @RaveledGame on X, we post a daily reminder when the new puzzles are live, what the theme for the day is, and what tomorrow's theme will be.
Automatic Saving: Your score, completion time, and puzzle statistics are automatically saved to your browser the moment you finish a puzzle. You never have to worry about losing your hard-earned results.
Score History: View a detailed history of all the puzzles you've completed. You can see your high score, days played, best individual puzzle score, fastest solve, your current streak (how many days in a row you played), and your maximum streak. You can also view the calendar to see how you did for that particular day.
Archives: You can view every puzzle we've ever released in the Archive. You can play any past puzzle, but it won't count towards your daily streak or stats. This is a great way to catch up if you miss a day, or to practice puzzles on topics you find interesting.
Raveled has 50 unlockable badges that reward everything from careful strategy to raw speed to long-term dedication. Badges are awarded automatically at the end of each game when their conditions are met. No tracking required.
Foundational achievements. A great starting point. Think: solving all five puzzles, hitting a 750+ score, or using your free letter wisely.
Consistent skill and specific conditions. Solve without revealing letters, build a 14-day streak, or hit 750+ on three puzzles in one day.
Serious milestones. All five puzzles scoring 900+, a 60-day streak, 200 games played, or completing a puzzle under 30 seconds without any reveals.
The rarest achievements. Earn 4,000+ points in a single day, accumulate 1,000,000 lifetime points, play for 365 days, or reach maximum prestige.
Badges are organized into five thematic paths. Each path rewards a different style of play:
Every game you complete earns XP, which contributes to your prestige level. XP is awarded for finishing a daily puzzle, solving individual puzzles, hitting 750+ on a puzzle, and playing clean (no wrong guesses, no clues, no letters). Unlocking badges also grants bonus XP based on rarity.
There are 10 prestige levels, from Newcomer all the way to Legend at 20,000 XP. Your current level and progress are shown in the Stats screen.
Proud of a high score? Want to challenge a friend? After completing a puzzle, you'll see a 'Share Score' button on the results screen. Clicking this will generate a unique, spoiler-free summary of your performance that you can post on social media or send directly to friends.
